What is Acrylic Paint

Since the 50s it has been possible to buy acrylic paint and today it is one of the most popular types of paint among artists. Acrylic paint is water-based (as opposed to oil paint) and has great covering power.

Acrylic paint dries quite quickly while working, so this leads to a work process where speed, flexibility, intuition and creativity are paramount.

My acrylic paint is from the brand "Golden Heavy Body". It contains an enormous amount of pure color pigments and some absolutely fantastic binders, and the paint has an incredibly delicious soft viscous consistency, that is easy to work with and apply in different ways. These colors are of top quality and are incredibly durable and light fast.

Another completely unique characteristic of this acrylic paint, is that depending on how much the consistency is changed through dilution with water, or completely changed through the use of media and/or gels, the more the acrylic paint achieves special properties from watercolor, gouache or oil paint respectively.
